Eric—Very nice looking pack! And I like the orange accents too.

Both look awesome!

Combining the side compression with roll top closure is an interesting idea! I’ve seen something similar on the Olympic UltraLite Talaria, but they don’t include the Y strap. Do you like having both? What cord did you use for the lineloc load lifters and have you experienced any slippage?

Elliot, I originally noticed how Zpacks did the nero closure and went from there. One of the side grosgrain loops is also for shockcord on the back panel if I decide to put a foam sitpad there.

This is the first time I have done the top y strap in this configuration, which I decided to do after seeing how HMG does there. I like the versatility of it but have not yet figured out how to deal with the excess strap behind the ladder lock. I used a solid ladder lock rather than a buckle, like HMG. I have previously done packs with a y-strap in a less versatile/adjustable configuration and appreciate having a top strap that i can throw my sweatshirt or w/e under without much fuss. My Ohm 2.0 and other ULA packs use a single top strap which I find sufficient but not ideal. I also like how MLD does their top strap configuration but I prefer to have the front panel connection to be fixed rather than adjustable.

I’m using Lawson’s iron wire at 2.mm i think. It holds decently but not a combo I would use on four corners of a pyramid. MLD’s 2.7 yellow line holds extremely well in lineloc3’s and are my go to when it CAN NOT slip.

I do like the carry options that the top Y strap provides. Thanks for the response and keep up the great work!

Nice tent~

I’m new, I just use 3F so far to save some money

how many yard of dcf does that tent cost?

someday i want to make one too, after i make my own dcf event rain jacket lol

Jun, I ordered around 7 yards of .8 dcf and had plenty left to make several dry bags. At $31 a yard, it was worth waiting for the rare sale price. If you paid less attention to the grain of the fabric, you could certainly make this size pyramid using far less yardage.

Reinforcement used another 1/2 yard of 2.92 and I also used some scrap 1.0 dcf on one or two areas…can’t actually remember..lol.
