I wandered into the local Patagonia store the other day and noticed a small display at the back featuring a hoodless zipperless synthetic sleeping bag (40g FullRange insulation, 10D fabric), a stainless steel woodstove, and a 30L backpack. Nothing revolutionary but it’s the first time I can remember them positioning these kinds of products as a package for backpacking, specifically.

Hhmmm….. 40 g/m is pretty thin. The video does state ‘warm weather bag’.
Good to see Patagonia getting into the game.
Agreed its a good start.
40g is 1.4osy insulation. For comparison, Simply Light Designs rates their 2.5oz at 50*. This would put the 1.4oz at a 60* bag??? can that even be called a sleeping bag? I guess it would work in the south during summer.
SLD’s 2.5 apex bag is 14.8oz and $145 for comparison. Not really sure what market the Patagonia serves.
Moving in the right direction though, so thats always good.
Hmm. No sleepwear on the site. They did make a shortie bag years ago, heavier but more durable.
Looks like an updated, improved version of the old Sonntique bag I used for summer climbing in the Cascades. It weighed a pound back then, but packed down small and was adequate for summer climbing when temperatures were usually in the high 30s-low 40s at night.
