While I am not suggesting this is the pack you should buy it is inspired by the pack I drooled over when I was a lot younger and has high alpine ambitions.

Be SURE it has a waist belt. If you slip while hiking, snowshoeing or skiing you will find out why.
Also make sure it is large enough for extra clothes, food, water and an emergency overnight kit. Â As a former Nordic ski patroller I’m jus’ sayin’…
