My garmin inreach mini died. I think it’s because I held the power button down too long. Then it wouldn’t send and receive messages.
I think the problem was that I had been hiking for several hours at 85F with some elevation gain. A bit dehydrated. Kind of spaced out. Maybe it just failed for some other reason.
Back home I plugged it into my PC and synced it, that reset it and now I can send messages.
My old garmin gps failed once so I had to go back home to re-initialize it.
I think if I bought a new phone it would be able to send satellite messages and I could retire the inreach. Not that I’m critical of it, it’s worked flawlessly for years. Although sometimes it takes an hour or more to acquire satellites which is a little annoying.
Anyone else ever have their inreach fail on a trip?
