Wow new forum!   Hopefully this post works.

Im planning to snowshoe Mt Watkins this weekend.   Yes I’ll have ice axe, microspikes, and enough down to make a few geese.

Anyone ever tried this in snow?  Any Avalanche danger?

It might help if you told us which Mt Watkins you’re asking about.  There are several of them.  Most likely you mean the one in Yosemite, but you shouldn’t assume that everyone lives in California and knows what you’re talking about.  Especially when your profile lists your location as “hamsterfish.”  That’s not very helpful.  :)

Sorry, didn’t know there was more than one.

Yes the one in Yosemite.  I planning to head in via mirror lake/Snowcreek trail.

Uh…And I thought my profile location used to say San Jose, CA…Either I’m remembering wrong or there was a glitch during the migration?

Just a follow up after my trip.  No avalanche danger up snowcreek.

However I did have a failed ascent up Watkins due to a gear failure.  Will post about it in the gear section soon.

Sorry no one ever answered you.  I’m pretty ignorant of Yosemite, or I would have.

I’m sorry too. I’ve been out to Watkins but not in snow, and from the quarry on Tioga Rd not up Snow Creek.
