First of all I want to thank Jessica Ulary for her help getting me back into Backpacking Light, I had an account many years ago but didn’t have a clue my username or password, it took me several emails back and forth for me to get back into the site, we even exchanged personal emails about our lives, so thank you Jessica. I have ‘two full sets’ of the long ago discontinued Titan Titanium Fuel Bottles, I also have I think two more of the large .8L size, can anyone explain why they were discontinued an/or recalled? I heard manufacturing of these bottles ceased because of low sales due to high cost, not enough hikers felt the cost vs weight savings was nill, something about the weld between the neck and bottle failed, I’ve been using one set for going on two decades depending on the length of my hikes determined which of the three bottles I packed, I’ve also used alcohol stoves I’ve personally made, of course using denatured alcohol for fuel, on my longer treks I use the alcohol and the shorter ones my WhisperLight, I just saw on Ebay one of the .8L and one .4L each go for just under $400.00, I’ve never sold anything on the auction site but I’m curious as to the value of a full set sold all at once or separately? It’s great being back to BL.
