It started raining as I approached the mailbox. My envelope was sitting there on top of a week’s worth of junk mail. Realizing that I had no pockets, holding onto the junk mail so it didn’t fly away in the wind. Not wanting to miss out on some amazing credit offers, I clutched on to it tightly while trying to poke my finger through the plastic envelope that held my prize. Luckily there was no more plastic on the inside to battle , only a recycled grocery bag to briefly ruffle through. I’ve only started to get wet. Life is good and there it was.
My apologies to the haters, not really. I love DCF. I like knowing that it will keep me dry. I’m always a little disappointed on the weight. For the price, it should be heavy. It wasn’t. I inspected it carefully, not. It was raining, I put that sucker on. There are a couple replaceableĀ elastic cords that go under each arm. It took half a second to get it sorted out and over my hat.
The hood has a nice fit, forming a bit of a bill that stood out well. Over my hat, it pulled the neckline up, which the zipper made up for.
It was fairly easy to get it over a larger pack and tighten it down using the lower side cords. Hooking the cords to my belt or under my belt pockets kept the front down when over the pack.
It covers your head, your shoulders, your front, your beltline and the gap between your pack. Some of the most important areas. Minimal, but works well. It’s not going to wet out.
I found Ian the owner, soon to be father, very pleasant to work with. Fairly fast to respond. He has some good ideas and is worth supporting.
A long lead time, but it came in a month early. Also available immediately at GGG, but $40 more and only in black.
