    Thanks for the review. I am a long-term owner of this jacket model and so I read your review from that perspective. I only found one area where I disagree with your assessment. You said, “All short-staple insulations (like that used in this jacket) are relatively fragile. Though we haven’t tested this jacket over a long time period, our experience testing other short-staple insulation shows that they are one of the least durable types of synthetic insulation.”

    I described Exceloft insulation in a 2016 forum post. The relevant portion of the discussion thread starts here. This substantially continuous insulation averages 59.1″ in length. Its degradation rate falls above the mid-point between short staple insulations and down.
