I would find it hard to move away from the Mini Groundhogs for a 0.6g per stake savings especially since they have proven themselves over and over again.

I like to use 4x of the 9″ MSR Core stakes, and then smaller stakes for extras, but I don’t think MSR is making those anymore so these 8.5″ MLD stakes seem like a good option for me.

Big Sky Tube Steaks are also great when you need extra holding power. I keep a couple of the 9″ for apex lines.

Goodness gracious that’s cheap – especially the Pachallma’s from GGG, considering they’re made in the USA.

I’m a machinist by trade, and have a 3D printer at home that I’ve become quite proficient with, including CF nylon filaments. I could *possibly* save a few bucks if I made a ton of these for myself. But no way I could sell at a profit for what those are selling for.

I picked up a couple of the Pachallma’s to round up an order on GGG for free shipping. Decent price and I didn’t have to buy a whole set.

I compare them to shepard’s hooks except the line won’t slip off with the printed head. They seem plenty strong though I haven’t pushed them to the their limit. At 2 grams, carrying a couple extra for ” just in case” isn’t much of a penalty.

The printed head seems solid. I don’t expect it to come off, but time will tell.

It’s a good product.

@Terran, does the printed head glow in the dark?

I have some glow in the dark filament, and used it for the same thing – stake caps
