Has anyone gotten their hands on the MLD Bug Bivy 2?
Would be curious to get people’s impressions on how they plan on using it.
I am considering replacing my 2008 MLD Soul Side Zip in eVent & stupid light/small cuben tarp with:
- Bug Bivy 2 for cowboy camping for more room & ventilation vs. my Soul Side Zip
- Silnylon MLD SoloMid for bad weather and to have the ability to sit upright, which I cannot do with a tarp and bivy setup
Current setup weight: 13 oz bivy & 5.5 oz for too small cuben tarp = 18.5
Proposed setup: 7.0 oz Bug Bivy 2 & 15.5 oz SoloMid = 22.5
4 oz more….complete bomber coverage and bivy that has head, side, and foot protection from cool breezes at night.
Will be curious to see if Bug Bivy 2 will pair well with SoloMid for the head and foot tie offs.
Anyway, any feedback welcome on the Bug Bivy 2 and this proposed setup that I have in mind.
Thanks!
Tony
