Could get as low as $49.99 for a PAIR of poles (right now $59.99).  $5 shipping for me.  They are aluminum, 5.5oz each.  There’s a thead here on BPL and a lot of nice reviews.  Check ‘er out!

I got these poles the last time they were on massdrop not too long ago, happy with my purchase seems like decent poles.

All I see when I “check it out” is a company harvesting email addresses before showing *anything* but a form to give them an email address or Facebook account.

I committed at the $49.99 level, and I don’t even need new poles. But I haven’t bought much new gear in a while, so the itch needed to be scratched.

@redmonk – I understand your frustration with hitting a virtual wall before being able to see the Fizan poles on Massdrop.com. I am the Ultralight Buyer for Massdrop, and I felt the same way when I first saw that. We require a sign-in because we need to make our events unsearchable by Amazon price-scanning programs, Google, and so on. This is the only way the most manufacturers would agree to work with us, as we offer such severe discounts and they don’t want other websites to automatically lower their prices because of us. We are not collecting data to sell to other companies, this is strictly a utilitarian function of ensuring your a human and not a bot.

Here is the link if you want to see the Fizan poles on Massdrop as a guest.

@Danny    Wow!  Thanks for the info!  I’m a member, and didn’t know all that, though it does make sense.  I got the Fizan poles last drop a few weeks ago and we had them out on the trail this weekend.  They were everything they were claimed to be and more:  superlight, strong, and comfortable

Highly recommended!

Okay, so I’m new to Massdrop, so maybe someone can help me understand how this works…

I saw this deal too late originally, so I missed the first go-around. I requested them to be offered again and now they are available. However, as the listing just started, they are being offered at $59.99 + shipping right now. It seems like if a total of 15 people commit then we will all pay only $49.99 + shipping. So am I correct in assuming that even if I commit now for $59.99, if 14 more people also commit I will pay only $49.99? Or am I locked in at the higher price since that’s what it was when I “committed”? I assume the first statement is true, because that makes more sense.

If the reviews are accurate then I’m excited to get them at either price! Seems like a steal for such light, adjustable poles. And I need a decent pair to pitch the Tarptent Stratospire 2 that I am planning to buy later this week!

Nevermind. I ordered them and I see that everyone who participates pays the same (as low as possible) price. Makes sense. I’m looking forward to getting these babies. Much lighter than my $15 cheapo poles from Amazon.

@jonwjessop – Sorry I didn’t see your first post, but it sounds like you answered your own question. Glad you joined the drop for the Fizan Poles. I’ve been using mine for 5 years and love them. Wouldn’t change a thing about them and have never had them slip!I am the buyer for ultralight gear at Massdrop, so feel free to PM me directly if you have any other questions.

@jimmerul – Glad you got the Fizan poles and are as impressed with them as everybody else! I think they are quickly becoming the recommended poles for many people – super light, reliable, and at a very reasonable price.
