Curious if anyone thinks it would be feasible to convert this sleeping bag into a lighter version by removing all or some of the synthetic insulation from the bottom of this bag. I saw a Cumulus false bottom bag advertised recently and it made me wonder if I could shave weight off my Quark. I’ve basically been using it as a loaner bag and pair it with a Rapide SL 4.8R pad so it should still be warm enough even with just the nylon shell bottom. My concern is mostly the footbox as it looks like there would be a bit more insulation there on the Cumulus bag than the Quark.
