Take a look at the Toronto outdoor club and high park hiking club if you have not already. Have done stuff with them for the last few years and both have been decent groups. There is also a backpacking group in meetup.com however have not gone out with them before
also take a look at the near north hike climb paddle group on Facebook as you could potentially find some ppl on there go go with as there are a number from the Toronto area
Just moved out of Toronto a couple of months ago otherwise I would be game
