I have fit kicks as well. They are very thin, but they have real rubber soles so men’s 10.5 weighs 9.4 oz for the pair. I think the main benefit of these is that they are packable.

Hey Brad,
My fitkicks are 180g – 6.35oz. Roughly women’s size 7 1/2. I have worn them in the snow- with waterproof socks. Worked fine, but i thought id cut some inner soles out of closed cell foam next time. Bit cold under foot
Thanks Megan, that’s helpful :)

Thanks Fifty…
Love the pack-ability of fit kicks but they retain water. I use them for travel but prefer EVA for backpacking for this reason.
So I ended up getting a pair (four actually) of slides fifty weeks recommended here : https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806159024310.html
Size 44-45 fits my size 9.5 feet to perfection. Very comfy and excellent weight:

@bradmacmt
My girlfriend has that same scale. Be cautious weighing anything that hangs over the edges bc as the floating silver scale portion pushes down, those black rigid edges can start taking on some of the weight and throw off the results. I’m not saying that’s happening with your new slides, but it might be. You can put a bowl on the scale first, hit the Zero button and wait for it to reset to 0, and then add the shoes to get the proper weight.
@jgh4 – You’re correct, and I understand this.
I used two different scales to measure the slides. The larger one is a baking scale and handles large items. The slides weigh the same on both scales.
Copy!
These look like they could be a good option for some folks. They are a minimalist trail runner listed at 4.6 ounces a pair for men’s but doesn’t specify What size that is for.
That is 4.6 oz per shoe, so twice the weight of the EVA slides.
But it looks like a better shoe.
Bill , that makes sense it did seem like that weight was too little to be true given what they are.
I had seen a review that said it was per pair but I guess it does say per a shoe right on their website -don’t know how I missed that.
I took Erik’s idea for adding a “sport mode” and actually just permanently attached the paracord to EVA slides. These are 3.9 oz for size 10.5 feet. I used a standard fabric hole punch to make the holes in the EVA so hopefully it won’t tear. I’ll see how these work out as I’m heading to Hawaii this month, so far they feel secure.

Looks great. 3mm shock cord works well too, I like the little bit of extra give from it
They look great, very professionally done.
New from Zpacks https://zpacks.com/products/zpacks-ultralight-camp-shoes
Just saw those, too. Interesting. Hoping they’ll make one with a back (think: Sanuk).
But no mention of the two lightest option – both weighing zero grams. Why?
* Go barefoot – very nice on grassy terrain, and OK on sheet rock too. Works fine on many rivers too.

* Remove all socks and put low-cut joggers back on. without any socks, my shoes feel very roomy. Being 100% synthetic, it does not matter if they get wet.

I just got a ZPacks email about this new product which I ordered: Ultralight Camp Shoes
2.2oz for X-Large

Maybe because that wasn’t the question. :)

Please report back once you get them. These look like they might be a winner.

I’ll be curious to hear reports on these. They really don’t look very comfortable or durable. A 4mm foam sole can’t offer much. For an extra 1.5oz I still think I’d go with my 99 cent slides.
I ordered and received the new zpacks UL camp shoes. Weighed 2.1 oz in size XL. Actually, I’m impressed. Surprisingly comfortable and functional, especially for something so light. Can’t speak to durability since I’ve yet to try them in the field, but they don’t seem that fragile to me. I’ll be taking them on a trip this weekend to try them out.

Cool – please report back!
Related to the Zpacks shoes, I wish they would use a fabric without the C6 DWR. Those environmentally harmful chemicals should already be history in outdoor gear.

+1 let us know your impressions. Just looking at the photos on the website, the soles appear to be EVA foam which has been heat stamped to have a tread (and likely compress it somewhat for additional toughness). I would expect this to provide some insulation value but not be tough enough for scrambling on sharp rocks.
those zpacks camp shoes look great to me.
If the soles keep Ponderosa pine needles from penetrating–and they would seem toe easily do this–what’s not to like?
I’m a rebel and would use these for many stream crossings as well.
