What are the best light (8 to 10 oz.) WPB rain parkas that will withstand day-long rains? I need size XL to accommodate my down puffy. I want a parka that can withstand shoulder  strap wear. And I want to stay away from gossamer-like 6 oz. fabrics.
My current WPB rain parka and pants are REI’s former Kimtah eVent rain suit. Each item weighs exactly one pound. That’s why the pants very seldom go along on a trip. Plus I use this parka for around town and alpine skiing so it has seen a lot of use over 6 years. I want to save it for non-backpacking use.
