Until the Natural World forum comes back, Photo Gallery should do just fine…Came across this incredible drama one day. A very small rattlesnake had just caught what appeared to a woodrat, and was attempting to swallow it. My wife and I were amazed this small snake could swallow prey that large. A little while later we headed back on this same trail and got the answer, also noting how venom can help pre-digest prey. Those with sensitive stomachs may wish to view to avoid viewing these before or during a meal…
Not sure if true, but heard smaller rattlesnakes can be more dangerous in terms of venom, because they often inject more venom than larger rattlers (the larger rattlers try to preserve venom and use only the amount of venom needed).
