Was just introduced to these and like them alot with all the customizations. Like the old ZPack Zeros. Website could be more user friendly though. Wondering what peoples thoughts of the packs are and what options you got?

Anyone specially try the Back in 3D mesh padded with not removable 8mm foam option? How much support did it give you? Baseweigh is around 8 pounds so I don’t need much.

Thanks!

People seem to love Laurent’s packs. I have a hard time getting past his website. I almost ordered a pack from him and started a spreadsheet to keep track of all the options, the cm to inches conversions and the yen to US dollars… It became too much trouble and lost interest.

I have a KS50. My favorite pack to date. I didn’t choose too many options. Dyneema all the way around and I’m blown away by the material(though I’m sure it’s the same with any dyneema pack). Seems very tough. I have the 8mm removable pad. It’s not much but it makes the pack keep it’s shape and is my dog’s sleep pad. I’m also interested in others thoughts on the mesh as I’ve been specing one out for my GF.

The only thing I’d do differently on mine would be to get the ks40. I just did a 5 day trip with bear canister and I still had a lot of room left.

Thanks for the info…haven’t found someone that has review it with the mesh back but it intrigues me. I have a full length zlite I use so I can take that off to sit on whenever I want. Would love a little built in padding but want to hear a review first.

I have the KS 27 Z with the 3D padded mesh back. I also got the internal pad because I needed a long internal pocket, and then I just took the pad out. It’s comfy when the pack is stuffed, and I think it is somewhat useful for the heat. I didn’t notice being uncomfortable ever with it on in the heat and humidity this summer.

His stuff is great. Looks good, very light, and it holds up well to a lot of abuse. I use mine everyday for work.

I wish the zippers went the other way on the belt pockets, that I had gone with 2L for the top pocket, and that one of the internal pockets was liquid proof, but other than that I have no complaints.

While his website is weird, I did much of the ordering via detailed email explaining what I wanted. He would then reply with what he thought was better and we went from there. Overall I thought ordering from him was a good experience.

I wonder how many sales he’s lost due to that horribly designed web site.  I can understand translation issues, but not how disorganized and confusing the web site is.  It does sound like he’s got good word of mouth testimonials.

I’m not currently in the market for one of his backpacks, but I went on that site to spec out a pack I might want, and really wasn’t sure how to get what I want.  He really needs good descriptions of the material options and make them easy to find.

I feel the same way although with a seven week wait it doesn’t seem like refresh of the website is really needed right now.
