Kahtoola RNR Lightweight Snowshoes, 22” Long, 2lb 13 oz/Pair

Snowshoes are brand new in original packaging.

·                                 Lightweight construction: Made with an aircraft-grade aluminum frame to be exceptionally light, with one user noting they were “lighter than some of my summer boots”.

·                                 Running-specific design: A turned-up tail reduces drag and prevents the user from stepping on their own snowshoe, and the overall design is optimized for a natural running stride.

·                                 Traction: Features a modest 1-inch aluminum forefoot crampon and two short cleats directly under the heel for grip on packed snow and firm surfaces, though they are not meant for icy conditions.

·                                 Binding: Uses a simple X-crossing webbing strap over the forefoot and a heel strap to securely and easily attach to running shoes or light hikers.

·                                 Flotation: The 22-inch x 8-inch wide frame and PU decking provide enough flotation to keep most runners from “postholing” (sinking deeply) in firm, compacted snow.

·                                 Snow Release Skins: Prevents snow from building up on the cleats at the front of the snowshoe.

·                                 Dual heel pads: Allow for controlled braking while maintaining tension on the decking.

Best for

·                                 Winter hiking or running on firm, packed snow or shallow powder.

·                                 Runners who want to maintain a fast pace without the weight of traditional snowshoes.

·                                 Users who plan to run in running shoes or light hiker footwear.

Not for

·                                 Technical mountaineering or use in very icy conditions, where more aggressive traction is needed.

·                                 Heavy boots, as the binding is designed for flexible footwear.

·                                 Deep, soft, or “post-holing” snow, where a wider, more buoyant snowshoe would be necessary.

Payment

·        MSRP was $239, sell for $90 plus shipping.
