Our editorial team is seeking a part-time technical editor with the following skills:

    * A deep understanding of the backpacking gear market, including the breadth of products across all categories, materials and fabrics, technology and design.

    * Strong English language written communications skills, especially technical writing.

    * Strong interpersonal communication skills that will be used to work with authors to help them bring their writing up to high standards of quality and objectivity in an engaging and positive collaborative environment.

The person selected for this position will be expected to provide a comprehensive technical review of one article per week, usually in the range of 2,000 to 5,000 words, occasionally longer, with a 3-business-day turnaround.

Article types will include gear reviews, state of the market reports, gear guides, and technical articles related to materials, science, technology, and backpacking skills.

The editor must be willing to work within our editorial core value framework, which includes creating content that is trustworthy, authoritative, and objective.

    Interested?

Please contact me at [email protected] with a work proposal, pay requirements, and statement of qualifications.
