Garmin inreach mini 2 is now 249.99 everywhere. Do you think this is just a good sale or an inventory cleanout for a replacement?

Probably inventory clearout. They are likely coming out with a newer model and they also recently added inreach functionality to their high end Fenix Pro GPS watch.
They’ve been marked down since the Plus came out. It may just be a price decrease. Putting the price of R&D onto the newer model.
I’ve actually sold my garmin messenger plus. I liked it, but I want the for factor of the inreach.
For one I’m not going on a trip until spring and two based on the release schedule of the inreach 1 and 2, there should be a 3 this fall.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. When sharing location and conditions or getting medical advice, in some ways, a picture has to be at least a little better than a text. Possibly the 3 would see improvements in sending medical data?
I’m hoping InReach 3 gets some of the sending pictures or sound clips over GPS that messenger plus has. I was able to send my wife an image of the first bear I ever saw while backpacking minutes after I saw it this past year. Was a great moment to share with her and talk to her about it.
Also, the technology is great.
I was backpacking on the coast of Washington fixing to get into my tent for the night when I got a message “There’s been an earthquake in Russia and your area is suppose to be evacuated because of a Tsunami warning”.
Many other campsites got this warning and we all quickly started talking to each other if we should really leave. We did leave. Didn’t want to risk it.
