Injinji Toe Socks Wearing Out Fast?

I’ve been wearing Injinji toe socks daily for nearly 10 years.  For backpacking I like their mid-weight trail sock.  But the socks I got as a gift this past Christmas are wearing out much faster than my older ones.  Has anyone else noticed this?   I received six pair in late December 2018 and wore holes in all them within six weeks.   I discarded two pair before I learned Injinji has a 1-year warranty.  Injinji replaced the other four pair in March 2019 and now those replacements are starting to wear out too.  It seems the quality of Injinji socks is not what is used to be.  As socks go, Injinjis are quite expensive.  Anyone know of alternative toe socks that cost less and last longer?

The Merino ones I had wore out fast but the synthetics seem to last a full ski season and I’m happy with that. I also find I need to change and wash each day if I can or they wear faster

I only get about 100 miles out of a pair.  For me the top of the toes get holes.  I clip my nails, but that doesn’t resolve the wear issue.  I wear Altra Olympus 3.0 shoes…..plenty of toe space.

Mine wear out fairly fast between the toes. Finally I gave up on them. Too expensive for questionable durability.

  1. the trail socks with wool in them do wear our faster.  I don’t use those anymore.  the all synthetic ones are more durable and dry faster too.
  2. overall when they do wear it is either on the toes, or under the forefoot pad if you are a minimalist shoe wearer with a forefoot strike. When they wear on the toes that means two things.  your toes are flexing independently, like they should.  With non-toe socks you would not be getting this flexing.  So that might at least explain the faster wear in part.

I have noticed that the wool one (the liner) wear out really fast..definitely don’t last for a full spring/summer/fall backpacking season.

Especially the heel area, it wears thin incredibly fast.
