I have been using an evernew 900 pot for over a year. I love everything about that titanium pot. I had no desire to look for a different cook pot. My buddy Swink1 picked up a couple for us to try and I’m shocked that we both prefer these pots so far to our evernew pots.

Here is a quick rundown of what we preferred about the IMUSA to the evernew.

Nothing stuck with longer boil times when cooking rice.

The size was easier to cook in and less worry about spillage.

Easier to use as a coffee cup and leave that weight at the house.

Easier to pack items inside but of course it is bigger so that’s a given.

Total weight with the home made lid was exactly the same weight as the evernew 900.

Anyeays – I wanted to share my initial thoughts about the IMUSA 12cm pot.

I like it also. Walmart no longer sells them :-(

I googled again and did find them but not at walmart prices :-(

Batchstovez makes an excellent aluminum 12cm pot with a lid, and without a handle.  It’s a little more than the original Imusa Walmart price, but made in the USA by an innovative cottage vendor (for those that appreciate that) and packs down even smaller without the handle.  It’s totally worth it.

Same thing for me. I have several titanium pots including an Evernew 900 and for the weight I keep coming back to the IMUSA 12cm pot with a lid made from a cheap aluminum foil pie pan and I believe it holds 40 ounces. My setup is very similar to yours. I picked mine up at Minibull Design.

The 10cm version is nice too. Here’s an Esbit kit I made for my son using a lid from Zelph, a piece of silicone hose, red silicone kitchen twine, a Qiwiz windscreen and stove stand and a diy Gram Cracker knockoff. In a stuffsack with a mini Bic the whole thing  weighs 5.1 ounces.
