Gives people a smile, reduces the possibility of theft.  I like it.

Does the solvent in the ink have any effect on fabric integrity?

Sharpie inks now as a mix of alcohols as the base. I used alcohol to remove a Sharpie “x” from a REI garage sale item after purchase. That was a hard plastic bike pump. Prob won’t work on fabric.

Dripping alcohol on a Sharpie mark in fabric causes it to spread radially. My wife has done some craft projects like this on cotton t-shirts and it comes out looking like tie-dye circles, especially if you put dots of several colors next to one another and do several drops of alcohol. A ripstop might make for some weird shapes. Could be fun!

This is BPL people!!!! Why has nobody asked how much the ink adds to the weight of the shelter? Am I even in the right place?

If you’re getting down to brass tacks, then you must know that different colors have different molecular weights…ruminate on that one mates!
