I have to confess, I seem to be a snow collector whenever I do even the slightest bushwhacking in winter. This is most likely due to branches that are weighed down by snow and hang lower with “snow bombs” and me not wanting to get on hands and knees so I just charge through.
I often tap on the branches with my trekking poles for the snow bombs to fall off, but regardless, I still seem to collect snow.
By the time I get to camp, there is often at least an inch (or more!) of snow in each of the side pockets of my backpack. I’d rather not bring a pack cover, but I’m tempted to start bringing one just to prevent me from collecting snow.
Was curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and has any UL-minded tips?
Thanks for your help!
