It looks like a lineloc with a hook, like this or this.

A taut line hitch with any clip (such as an s-hook or carabiner ) would do the job (and would be easier to fix in the field if one breaks).

I know it’s not what you asked but maybe attach a small loop of guy line or shock cord to the webbing loop and then the hook works? I needed to get hooks like those to slip over a metal d ring on a teardrop camper project  (the BPL version of rvs) and was able to heat them up with a lighter and pry the hook open, don’t know if that would help it hold webbing better.

You might want to consider a mini snap hook for your application.  It wont slip off, except when you want it to.  But you’d still need the  cord tightener part, or use a tautline hitch tied as Daryl and Daryl have posted on BPL.

They slip. I put them on my tarp lines.  I find myself bypassing them a lot.

Terran,  perhaps a search on BPL, as there are a number of threads that go into detail about various remedies for slipping; including the thread from Roger Caffin about  the tighteners he uses that function like a tautline hitch but do not slip.  Using the right size and strength cord for the device also helps.  Funny, I’ve always used the tautline learned in the scouts, and never had slipping.  It may be that spectra or dyneema cords do not grab as well as nylon.

I’m using Lawson Glowire. I have good luck with it.

I like the simplicity and the clean looks of the hooks. I double them back to the line. At that point, I may as well use a taut line hitch.
I use a tension lock at the top end.
