Looking to mod a SW 3400 to carry two ice tools. The single ice axe loop that runs right over the main compartment and smashes down anything in there is the biggest compliant I have with the pack. Been climbing more recently and this mod would be very useful. I don’t do much MYOG – suggestions?
Hey Cole – make two small loops out of some strong shockcord, 3/16″ should be OK, and secure with a toggle. Each loop can be rigged through the little plastic loop tabs that are on the side of the back pocket. Use the lower loop like a normal ice axe loop and the upper loop to secure the shaft.
