The Eagle River valley is a nice getaway close to Anchorage. On this trip I did a simple hike in raft out trip. If you could shuttle cars an even better trip would be to hike across Crow Pass, see the Raven Glacier and then raft out. At higher water wood hazards are nothing to mess with but if you can steer a raft you are fine. Just get out before Echo Bend.
