I’m trying to get information on which of the Hilton Creek Lakes (near Rock Creek Lake) is the best to camp at for a 2 night trip. I’m taking my 8 year old, and would like to set up a good basecamp for additional hiking, exploring, and fishing. I’m leaning towards the first lake after hanging a left on the fork (is this Lake 3?), mostly to cut down on the miles for my kid, but if it’s worth hiking a little farther to one of the other lakes, I’d like to know.
