With the TT Notch Li I bought my 2nd hiking pole supported tent. The TT Contrail was my 1st.
I ordered the optional pole handle adaptors so I can put my pole handles in the peaks instead of the pole tips. I really dislike getting the handles and straps dirty or muddy. Â Finally I always use rubber tips on my hiking poles and they don’t play well with the grommet at the peak. In fact these rubber tips do work well on soft ground when used in my NotchLi.
When I ordered these adaptors from Tarptent I happened to get Henry Shires on trephine. He mentioned that he spent some time getting their design just right for most of the pole handles out there. I see that for my pole handles there is a configuration of the adaptors that works better with handles in one orientation than the other. This means I had to this in these adaptors so my handle straps would hang away from the entrance area.
In short if , like most pole-supported tents, you have a grommet at the peak(s) you can likely use Tarptent’s handle adaptors.
