I live in northern IN, pretty close to the lake and Michigan border.
Always looking for new trails, adventures, especially off trails. Looking for more experience in off trails and if you have an extra pack raft I really want to try that!
All my trips are solo because no one I know close to me is interested in what I like to do so I’m reaching out to find similar mindset and hopefully learn from each other, if not just have a load of fun!
Any time of the year, doesn’t bother me, not a huge fan of HOT and humid but I’m a big boy who is learning to embrace the suck. I go running out in snow, cold, rain, ect.
I’m fully vaccinated as well.
Let me know if your interested.
Full disclosure I have 2 young kids and a working wife so juggling can be difficult at times but I think if I have someone else involved less of a chance to back out. I’d love to go on more trips but I’ll see what time allows for with the family and work.

Jul 3, 2021 at 11:17 am #3720932Hi Josh,
I am looking for backpacking partners also. I live in Toledo Ohio.
I am off work till July 11 and have another vacation week after Labor day.
Jul 3, 2021 at 9:33 pm #3720963Never wrong to check the local university outing/hiking club. Some are mostly full of undergrads, but others have grad students, hangers-on and 20- and few 30-somethings who know to check out such groups to find rides and companions for local, regional and more far-flung trips. I was involved with the UC Berkeley Hiking Club (later “CHAOS”) in the 70s, 80s and 90s and met my wife on one of their gourmet backpacking trips.
Those of us with day jobs, a checkbook, and a working vehicle enabled students otherwise limited to public transit to get a lot further afield.
Jul 3, 2021 at 10:09 pm #3720964Are there any real mountains out your way? In my Dad’s Iowa turf there were only “bluffs”, a term completely unknown and unused in California.

Shoot me a PM but labor day is a possibility and we can talk
Jul 6, 2021 at 9:40 am #3721110Cameron,
Nope, just hills and valleys. Closest mountains to use to me are the smokey or Appalachians which compared to the west are nothing
