Anybody have experience with the Hiker Hunger Carbon Trekking Poles?  Amazon is selling them for $69.99 for a pair.  Looking at the manufacturer webpage, the warranty seems pretty straight-forward.  outdoorgearlab’s review expresses concern about durability. But the price seems right.  And I’m not a thru-hiker.  I only do a trip (or two) each year.

Thoughts?

They appear to be identical to Cascade Mountain Tech poles which are $44.75 on Amazon prime.

I bought a pair of these just to try and they are really decent poles IMO, although not nearly as light as offerings from GG, Locus, Ruta, etc. I think that as long as you don’t crank down the cam locks too tightly they should last a long time.

Thanks for the reply Bob.  Wow, those Cascade Mountain Tech poles are significantly cheaper than the Hiker Hunger poles (which I already thought were fairly inexpensive).  I may have to take a look at those.  Thanks!

The Cascade Mountain Tech poles are even cheaper at your local Costco store – $30 + sales tax.

I have been using a pair of the Cascade Mountain Tech poles for some time now with good results.

There are also some carbon poles on monoprice for $30, which are similar to the the cascade mountain ones and quite well reviewed. I don’t have experience with them though, but have heard good things.

I do have experience with the cascade mountain poles. They’ve been very good, however I did need to glue one of the tightening mechanism parts back into one of the pole shafts. Kept coming out.

Then another option – massdrop has fizan compact 3 and 4 poles for 60 bucks. Not carbon, but very light (5.6oz each). More comfortable straps imo than the cascade mountain.
