Does anyone know what CCF pad is available currently with the highest Rvalue?  I need to replace my Thermarest  Solar pad at 3.4R and discontinued of course by Thermarest.  See pic.  Just wondering what’s out there like ensolite or whatever—but it has to be at least in the 3-4R range.

This list of pads lets you choose CCF and sort by R. 2.2 is the highest and the highest I ever came across.

This is a more extensive list.  Some of the R-values are incorrect though: Ridgerest Classic R = 2 not 3-4, zlites show r value when folded up double thick etc

Here’s one last list, pretty extensive

To get R = 3 to 4,  a self inflating with foam core might be the solution but heavy.  Could always cut it down and just use it torso length with bag under your legs

The old Ridgerest Deluxe might hit that number but they don’t make it any more. Maybe you can find one hiding in the back of a store unsold somewhere, or a used one. Otherwise you will have to layer them up. If you layer up, I would suggest two diiferent types so that the corrugation/indentations dont line up and nest.

I think the old Ridgerest hit that number before they initiated the new ASTM R-value standard for sleeping pads. One of the odd things that happened when they re-rated all the pads was that the R-value of the various Thermarest inflatables went up and the R-value of their foam pads went down. Everyone else’s insulated pads (e.g. Sea-to-Summit, Exped, etc.) went down.

I would experiment with a torso length of emergency blanket under the torso portion of ccf pad.
