Im about to start pulling the trigger on gear (tax return ha)

I am still open to lighter weight options when it comes to a shelter but I am keeping in mind if I get away from a poncho/shelter I will need to get different rain gear for if it rains while I’m running.I definitely want full rain and bug coverage. I looked at the MLD bug bivy paired with the gatewood cape – the only thing I was concerned about is the lack of any bathtub floor to keep splashes at bay and the actually pairing of the two products where I know that the serenity nettent pairs well and has a nice bathtub floor.

I am open to a bivy under the gatewood cape just trying to weigh everything.

I think the Gatewood could workout for you- a taller person, not so much

one thing to consider as well is how it would be running in a poncho?  I never have, so can’t give any input
