I didn’t mean to give my Xtherm away but to swap it for a smaller unit. If I cannot then there are instructions on ytube how to trim it down.

Any chance that you have too much stuff on and are sweating out your back which is in turn causing it to get cold?  I only ask because I am on the thin side and get cold easy.. I remember at one point I overcompensated for this wearing a merino + fleece to bed and woke up freezing because I was sweating and had a draft in my quilt.

If you were cold all over I would say its pad/bag related but if its just your back I would say it may just be bad circulation there?

@Skibbs

I am definitely not sweating. I just tried an Xtherm inside the tent which was on wet and cold rainforest floor and it certainly felt MUCH warmer than the Xlite! I have toyed with ‘insulation from the ground’ via closed cell foams, more vegetation, reflective materials (the spaceblanket type of stuff) under my Xlite but they made little difference if any whereas this Xtherm seems to be a better solution…..

I think you will find that putting a CCF pad ON TOP of your Xlite will make a much bigger difference than under it.  At least it did for my BAIAC pad.  With the CCF pad on top I was quite warm at 25.  Not so much with it on top.  I tried both so I could see what worked better for me.

Just a torso length pad.  My legs were never cold, with or without the CCF pad.  My feet did get cold, but that is a different story.
