Hey all
I’d post this to the Garmin user group forum, but it is as convoluted as Garmin itself; even the user group is arcane and difficult! I use my inreach to send preset (check in) messages to a group of friends and family. If I had been smart, I’d have included myself to receive all the emails, but I didn’t. I’ve asked one person to forward me all the emails. I’ve tried to see on Garmin Explore and on Earthmate where I could find the messages I sent, stamped with the location coordinates and map. But there doesn’t seem to be a way to find this information. Any ideas? I just want to create a map with all the locations that I can work with as a “diary” entry. I’d like to be able to use the location, add a photo and my journal entry for that campsite. But to start with I need my exact location, which I sent to everyone except myself.
Ideas welcome! Adding a photo for attention. Smedberg Lake

I can’t answer, but I always include myself on the list of people to send the message to for just that reason.

you have to create an account
I have sent 389 messages
Aug 17, 2025 at 5:48 pm #3839775Yes, I have an account, and once I reset the date range, I could see the most recent messages (why the default is not recent, idk). However, the Garmin Explore map does not show the flag on the map, as it does for the links in the messages that my friends receive, nor does it have the trail on it. The message link includes all of that and even my name too! It’s a little nerdy I suppose, but seeing exactly where I was camped, compared to where I thought I was on the map, is interesting.
I guess I just need to fiddle with this stuff endlessly; that’s how I learned Photoshop. Something to do when I retire I guess, if ever!
Aug 17, 2025 at 8:19 pm #3839785I’m sure I’m saying the obvious, but if you click on the location ikon to the left of the message it will show a map with all the places you’ve sent messages
all I ever do is send messages, I record tracks on my phone with gaia, I don’t know what the garmin would show for any tracks you’ve taken

I might not be understanding your question… but do you turn tracking on when you are using inreach? I go to my share.garmin.com/(username) page and get a map and locations of my whole walk.
Don’t know if that helps.
