There are many opinions about heat loss in footwear, and many claims from manufacturers about the amazing insulation in their boots.
Has anyone measured or imaged this?
I would love to see some thermal imaging of feet inside boots on a cold day.
Any measurements of how much heat you lose through the sole? Do Crampons make a difference?
Lot’s of questions.
If anyone has any links to studies or casual measurements, I’d love to see them.
Thank you
Infinite insulation at your feet is of no value at all if you have bare legs in the gale.
I suggest that having warm legs is far more important, in order to get the warmth TO your feet.
Cheers
