People I know mainly use loppers, folding hand saws like the Silky Boy saw, cross-cut saws (if you have a certification for them), pulaskis and McClouds. I only ever use loppers or a folding saw, and sometimes the only thing I do is toss, which only requires gloves.

Always wondered what the difference was in a single jack and a drilling hammer. Come to find out a drilling hammer is a single jack.

In my little experience I found a large bow saw as quick as a crosscut saw and a lot easier to pack and stow.

When I helped build trail for in a local  Nat, wildlife refuge, we used machetes for the dog hair and chainsaws for the larger. McClouds and Rakes followed.
