Not ultra light but if it does what it says it might be worth a look. If nothing else, their timing is perfect!

That’s an impressive dingus if – as you said – it does what they say it does…and I would say that water filtration + water storage + antivirus treatment in one unit is worth 15+ ounces of weight. I’d give it a shot.
Just saw this thing in a video by the GreyBeardedGreenBeret.
Looks quite neat… the ease of use and time to filter looks phenomenol. 250L rated per cartridge and looks like they are doing some kind of zero waste return program for them.
I’m interested in trying just for the convenience factor. I’m sick of the futs/unreliability of the other options out there. It puts me off using many natural sources of water, and I end up carrying more water and weight as a result. Maybe this is the one?
I looked at what looks to be a predecessor of the one you are looking at. As is the case with most small-pore filters, the folks at OGL had problems pushing the water through the filter. I suspect this will be the case for most. If you need virus purification, it might be worth it to just get a Steripen and a bladder that fits it.
Section Hiker reviewed the GeoPress less than a month after the OP. Â Philip’s comments rang true to my ears.
I use a befree gravity style for hiking but the grayl is great for bikepacking if you have somewhere to mount it (I do). The dual filter seems to improve flavour. Only problem is the ridiculous price and brevity of the replacement filters.
Weight:Â 15.9 oz (450 g)
Oof.
