I am heading down Grandview Trail in less than a week. I will spend 3 nights along the Tonto moving west for two nights. I am going down and up the same way. Has anyone been down this trial in the last week or so? I am wondering how much snow and ice will be present. I plan on looking for the Cave of the Domes and exploring some of the side canyons. Any other suggestions for this trip or advice would be welcomed.

I don’t know.
At the least you want to take microspikes with you to the GC and then make a last minute decision to take them in or leave them in the car. I’ve walked up and out in 4″ of fresh snow with no problems. Ice, on the other hand, has serious implications.
I’ve carried microspikes in and out unused, several times, without any regrets.
When you get there, check with rangers at the Backcountry Office over by the train tracks in the village, they will have the latest info. Great trail, it wasn’t named “The Grand View” for nothing.
