So we have here two hiking pole-supported Dyneema tents. Both are of high quality and both are light.

Prices and weights aside I’ll take the Notch Lithium because of its design. It just feels like more room inside where I need it and the more wind-shedding exterior shape.

Owners of either one, whaddya think?

Can’take speak to the Notch Li, but my cirriform dw 1p can handle high winds with ease.  It is a low volume shelter and I find it not the easiest to enter and exit, but that has much to do with my lack of flexibilty! I do prefer a side entry. But the Cirriform has been out in gales even with snow and it did great. I also own a sylnylon Terraform 2p that is much bigger but still handles the wind easily. That said I am contemplating the Notch Li!

bcc,

Good to know the Cirriform handles wind well. It looks a lot like my former Tarptent Contrail which was not the greatest in wind but then I never guyed out the sides as I should have.

With your having the Cirriform why do you crave a Notch Li?

My wife calls me a tent geek. I say it’s because I like side entry tents, especially in the middle of the night. But considering the number of tents in the gear closet, I know she’s right!
