I can’t believe I’ve had these poles for 10 years.  They are one of the few items that hasn’t been replaced in my gear list since then.  Sadly, I just found out that GG no longer sells them on their website–they only list the LT5’s now.  If I were to do it all over again, maybe I’d go with the LT5’s…but maybe not?  The LT4’s are around 7.2 oz–about 2 oz lighter than the LT5’s.  While they have their limitations, they are still my go-to for backpacking.  Anyway, here’s the gear video:

I’ve had the LT3’s for 10+ years. I’ve had to replace a tip or two. But it’s hard to beat 2.7oz. Sad GG is not selling them anymore.

Yeah, I forgot about the LT3’s.  Those were the good old days.  Seems that nowadays some of the “fringe” element of UL backpacking is gone, replaced by bigger production and company growth (think ZPacks and Gossamer Gear).  Not necessarily a bad thing, but I recall the days when the only option for a pack under 10 oz was MYOG.  Remember Ryan Jordan’s 7 oz silnylon pack and stuff like that?

That said, if I were buying poles today, I’d go for the LT5’s.  Locking mechanism is more reliable and not that much heavier than the LT4’s.  But still…I miss the fringe element.
