Hi Guys,

Long time reader, but definitely don’t post often. I’d like to buy a sewing machine to play around with. I want something simple and inexpensive, that is good to learn with. I might sew a few layers of canvas, maybe even a leather patch or two. I’ve been looking at these machines. Would either of these do the job?

I used a singer 1941 201-2 (they run 100-150.00 on Craigslist) for several packs. It worked great! Just keep the needle changed often and you’re good to go! Now I have a Juki 1541, it’s a beast!
