Good cordage for zipper pulls?

The metal zipper pulls on one of our tents make a lot of noise when it’s windy. Keeps us up at night. I was thinking of replacing the metal pulls with some cordage.

Any suggestions? I was thinking 1mm with reflective-ness.

Thanks!

I like MLD’s pro guyline (the thin orange stuff) in this application but it’s a pretty non-critical application so I’d think whatever you have on hand that is thin would work.

I’ve used Kelty Triptease because I already had a bunch, and it’s reflective.

Also, I’ve sprinkled MSR Night Glow glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls around. Not cheap, but they work well, don’t jingle, and help me find zippers at night. For most paired pulls (e.g. inner doors, sleeping bags), need only one.

Put some tape around the zipper pull so it doesn’t make noise?

Just a piece of cotton string would meet the basic need, it’s a really low bar. You’re using so little of it that weight diff between choices doesn’t matter.

I think it comes down to convenience and any features you may want. If you have something on-hand or could scavenge off existing equip then easy-peasy. If you want reflective cord or glow hardware then there are many choices. If you’re buying cord check out Lawson Equip.
