Can’t see article without paying, but 90% of open space in DC is run by the NP system. Yeah, I know that hurts, but it is the truth. And little has been done there for decades to make it look nice. NP land is just that – wether or not it is urban or wilderness.

Depends on what you call nice. I thought tradition and history was important. We could rebuild Lincoln’s Cabin. Get rid of those dusty old logs.

they said about 90% each

funny how different presidents first create or enlarge a national monument, then reduce it

maybe congress should be the ones doing this, it would be more stable.  But it’s always frustrating to get a majority.

The golden years of unlimited money ran out long ago….long, long ago.

But if anything, I have also found that much of the US is still very much normal, as it has been for a long time. Long-distance road trips show that well. It does us all well to get out there. I went mostly off line for 9 days, it was a good thing.

And that the US loves Buc*cees more than air itself. Lol.

Being unaware doesn’t change the realities that bulldozers bring to the land. Proclaiming that we are in the ” golden era” while massively increasing the debt doesn’t jive when selling out our assets and presenting large inflated no bid contracts. It doesn’t jive with not helping the impoverished while demanding a ballroom for the protection of one man after the deluge. Endless money is always gone for protecting our public lands or helping the needy. Yet in the other hand there’s demands to help the victims that smeared feces on the walls of one of our most treasured buildings.

I don’t buy it.
