doublestickĀ tape maybe?
i’m curious why you are glueing the two materials together. whatcha makin?
Yeah, Doug, I’m sure the 1/2″ double-sided tape that Z-Packs sells will work. That is one strong adhesive that will stick to most anything (silicone, probably not–nothing sticks to that).
So what are you trying to make anyway, Idester?. I am thinking of an insulated stuff sack, or maybe a bomb-proof FBC cozy. Tell us, tell us…please!
UL insulated WP Boxers????
Just a little warning about Reflectix: The outer layer of Mylar film on Reflectix is highly prone to tearing off the bubblewrap layer… in my experience.
So if you are trying to adhere Cuben to it, I could see the Mylar becoming the weak pointĀ in the system. Whatever you are constructing, I’m not sure if it would be cost worthy usingĀ Cuben on it, since the Reflectix is so cheap and non-durable.
Thanks for the replies so far, much appreciated.
I got some cuben quite some time ago, don’t know why as I don’t know how to sew, and came across it as I was sorting through things (forgot I had it), so I decided to do something with it. If it falls apart that’ll be okay since the cuben’s just sitting there anyway.
I was hoping for some spray adhesive I could use instead of the tape, or is that just going to break down the mylar even quicker?
Making a jacket. Kinda. Of sorts.
Please post photos of the finished project :)
I figured Doug was building a UL beer cooler.
Can’t wait to see your creation, Doug.
Daryl/ Daryl style?? Ā Pleeease?!!?!?
Make a helmet too.
:-)
I ended up tossing that project to the side and focusing on another project I’ve had going for a bit. It was going to be a ‘jacket’ for my ARB refrigerator, but I ended up paying an absolutely ridiculous price for the ARB fridge cover instead.
So David was pretty close with his guess!
