I regularly make soup in my titanium pot from a powdered broth for dinner. I add tuna packet and olive oil. Needless to say, this leaves a pretty strong scent/flavor to the mug even after rinsing it diligently. This makes for interesting and off putting coffee in the morning.  So I either bring an additional mug or figure a way to clean it well. I have tried Dr. Bronner’s soap and small piece of 3m scrub pad, this works to visually clean it but the taste is still left behind.

Any ideas on this?

The mud and moss from a streambank is a trick I found to remove odors after poaching and frying trout in the Sierra; it’s best I’ve found.

Dirt and sand/fine gravel.

Or stream mud and moss. Or both.

That’s exactly what I’ve done for decades. Haven’t found anything better.

Mostly dry where I camp but I can make a little mud with my water. Giving it a try next time out.

I don’t mix anything in the pot, in fact I don’t bring any cooking or heating stuff if I’m going very far.

Haven’t had this problem… but when I want to get rid of smells and tastes in other situations, I find that backing soda usually helps… easy enough to put some in a baggie and put a pinch or two in you mug when cleaning…

Dual purpose, use it to brush teeth.

Before or after cleaning the pot with it?  :-)

Titanium? Heat it until it glows red….tase gone. Pot sterile and clean.
