I’ll work on a picture. In the meantime, your Bobcat for Kovea is the right idea. The bottom shield just needs to be suspended above the canister in order to work with an upright stove.

The heat shield should be tall enough to cover the sides of the pot, as in the left-hand windscreen in your picture:

I am currently using the WideSea windscreen for the bottom part. It’s a nifty design that will work with many stoves, although the spring clip is heavy.

EDIT: Maybe the bottom shield isn’t required, as in your Cheetah windscreens? Something else to test (you probably have done so already).

Yes, like your vid, Dan. The main thing is to warm the sides of the pot. Maybe the fins help to keep uniform distance between pot and heat shield, even in the presence of wind? I wouldn’t expect them to make a performance difference, but they might be a practical thing.

I knew that you guys could do it better than me. :)

EDIT: I see that you made that thing four years ago. Am I correct in thinking that it is as efficient as an HX pot (in grams of fuel per boil)?

Update: This version weighs 23g; a third of the weight penalty of an HX pot. It is within 0.2g of being as efficient as the HX pot.

It’s still a rough prototype. I’m sure you stove-making guys can do much better. Maybe could be even lighter if made from titanium.

Prototype Heat Shield. Lighter and roughly as efficient as HX pot.
