Feds release comprehensive plan for Pacific Northwest Trail

The area of the trail in Republic, Wa is contentious. My friend lives there in an off-grid homestead, and the trail is next to her land. She gets trespassers constantly all summer. Mostly they see livestock and go for water. If they’d just walk up and knock she’s totally cool with helping out. But trampling fences is just horrid.

I live on Whidbey Island, and the trail comes down the top half and then exits to the ferry to the Olympics. They need to figure out finally routing it away from the Miliatary base. And the beach access is gone now in Ebey State Park. A huge mess for sure. Most just walk the roads it seems.
