    Hi all,

I’m looking to do a 7-14 day backcountry hike in late May/early June, and am looking for recommendations for some epic, wide-open scenery with a good dose of solitude.

My requirements are that I’d like to avoid bringing anything more than 3-season gear, can travel anywhere a US passport will get me, and doesn’t require technical climbing.

    Thanks for your input!

…some areas I’m currently considering Olympic NP and Grant Staircase Escalante.

The Olympics will be quite rainy. Escalante sounds good. We’re doing Salt Creek in Canyonlands; I noticed there are some open permits around June 5.
