They have a 50% off sale today, and if you add the coupon code STACK another 15% off.  Jacket comes to $80.54 for a 800 fill downtek jacket.  Seems like a good deal even after tax (no tax for my state).  Free shipping – 13 oz is what they state is the weight, not the lightest but seems like a good bargain for the weight and has good reviews.

EDIT:  FYI customer service claims 5oz of fill

So did anyone end up getting this jacket? I am looking at them and wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it?

Erich, I ended up buying one. I’ll create a new thread about it in the reader reviews later today

I got one during one of the previous sales for about this price. It’s a pretty killer deal. Somewhere online they say there’s a bit over of 5oz of down in here, and it feels warm enough that I believe it. Pretty well-constructed and designed.

I got one. Paid less than $85 total with a coupon code – no tax, & free shipping. Seems like a steal to me. Fairly lightweight – It’s obviously not a huge, thick puffy. Admittedly, I haven’t owned a similar down jacket to compare it to, and I haven’t taken it backpacking yet. I’ll tell you that I bought it for backpacking, but I’ve worn it around almost every day since I got it a couple weeks ago. Has kept me warm enough here in northern Ohio walking the dog and such and feels weightless while I’m wearing it. If you’re looking for an affordable, lightweight extra insulation layer that compresses down well, then I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it at that price. It’s a high quality jacket. Not some crappy product, if that’s what you’re worried about. Maybe a jacket that’s 4 or 5 times the cost would outperform it in some way, but I have zero complaints about it and it was cheap. Medium fit me as expected.

Yup, it is a great jacket. The older Down Sweater was lighter, but had some shell problems. They do keep me warm. I also wear it around, here in the NE.

Thanks for all the responses. I have been wanting a down jacket if I could find one for the right price (just found out about Uniqlo). Sounds like this one is too good to pass up.

Has anyone actually weighed theirs? Is 13oz accurate?

Haven’t had the time to do a full write up, but here’s some info

Size M: 13.9 ounces

Fill power/Fill amount: 800FP/Unclear from EMS support (claimed to be 5 ounces from users)

Loft:~1.5″ (not that it means much)

Back length: ~27″

Arm length: ~26″

Thoughts: Seals up extremely well. Shape is a bit boxy, with “interesting” construction in the underarm. A little larger sized than my Montbell Alpine Light for reference (Montbell back and arm length around 24″). Accommodates layers underneath (would fit another puffy with room to loft). I would not trade for the small however.

Internal pocket stuff sack is pretty useless; too much effort and i’ve had the zipper snag every time i try. Comes with 3 outside pockets, wrists have elastic, and has a draw cord bottom to sinch up. YKK zipper with draft guard.

I have a Uniqlo down jacket as well. Mine weighs right about 8 ounces, but I can’t take it into the temperatures i could with the EMS jacket. I got the EMS for $80 and have zero regrets.

Just a head’s up. 20% off this jacket right now with the code:   march   . That puts it at under $80.
